USA 577 is finally floating.
December 4th 2006 – Got this great news for Katie Ambach today.
Hi Gang,
I just wanted to let everyone know that Drew and I can build
boats that actually float!!
Just in case anyone was wondering... I was...
The little Mini is in the water as of today.. about an hour
ago!!!! YIPPEE!!!
This email would be accompanied by a photo if I had remembered
to bring the camera connector thing to work.
but I didn't. So you'll have to wait for a few hours to see
the picture that proves it!
It floats very high in the water... the waterline we painted
looks ridiculous. Both the bow and the stern are completely out of the
water. woah...
I am very excited. It was just me there at the launch. Drew is
in Paris. Good Grief.
We'll have christening with champagne, etc. around the
Bermuda 1-2 probably.
And just so everyone knows, when we said we were going to
launch in July.. it was one of those frequent mistakes of language.. we
REALLY meant January. You know how that sometimes happens.. January/July.
Anyway, My bad.
So.. we're early... we launched early.... Just so you know.
It snowed this morning. The mini went in the water with snow
on the deck.
Lovely.
